How we Met...
The first time we met was through some mutual friends who thought we should get together. The place was The Globe in Coral Gables. Marilyn really didn't pay too much attention to Tony, which might be one of the things that intrigued him about her. But he persisted and they ended up going out several times. In the begriming, there was a lot of boat action (meaning we went out on the boat a lot). We still enjoy the boat quite a bit, especially going fishing and traveling to the Keys and Bimini.
"Us"
We live in a quaint little area of Miami called Coconut Grove. Our townhose is modest and very centrally located. In fact, the house is less than 10 blocks from Tony's office which is located at Monty's in the Grove. You can sometimes spot us on our golf cart as we run quick errands or head into CocoWalk for a bite and a movie. .
Hobbies
Our favorite pastime is defiantly traveling. Whether it's a European road trip (we've done two) or a quick jaunt to Bimini, travel is where our free money and time often go. We've been lucky enough to do some traveling beyond our boat. (See Our Boat below) We have visited Spain, France, New York, and countless Caribbean islands. We have recently become advocates of cruising. We have Hawaiian and Alaskan cruises planned for the near future.
In addition to traveling, we enjoy fishing and going out on our boat. Marilyn's Achilles heel is shopping (how odd) and Tony's is technology. Tony currently owns 10 printers! There are 3 computers in the house and only 2 human occupants.
Quick Fact
In the begriming, there was a joke among Tony's friends who nicknamed Marilyn "Boo." The name has stuck and many of our friends refer to us an "T and Boo."
Anthony Albelo
Tony was born in Los Angeles, California back in 1968. He and his entire family moved to Miami in 1972 when Tony was only 4. Since then he has become a real Miami "homer." He now owns and operates Ocean Promotions (formerly Envision Consulting) and manages many popular fishing tournaments such as The Grove SLAM!, The Mayor's Cup, The Sailfish Kickoff, and The Kingfish Masters. In addition he runs several more in the Bahamas plus a boat parade.
Marilyn Bayona
Boo was born in Union City, New Jersey in 1974. Her family made the move to Miami when she was only 2 years old. She is an elementary school teacher at an inner city school in central Miami.
Bandit...
Our little puppy isn't a puppy at all. Bandit is 14 years old, but you would not know it by his demeanor and athletic ability. Bandit is loved by everyone who visits our house. He is a very affectionate dog and a HUGE part of our family.
Our Boat "HeaVEEweight"
Currently "HeaVEEweight" is for sale as we make room for a new boat. She is a 32'6" Sea Vee powered by twin 225 Mercury OptiMax engines. (link to boat specs) She is a beautiful deep blue with yellow trim. We keep her at Grove Key Marina right here in Coconut Grove. The marina is just 1 block from Tony's office and 10 blocks from our house.
The new HeaVEEweight will be the same except with twin 300 HP Mercury Verados!
